Regional climate modeling provides climate and weather information at local and regional levels, in order to handle the challenges and opportunities that come with climate variability and change. Regional climate modeling has matured over the recent decades to enable scientific and societal applications on a broad spectrum. This session provides an opportunity for all researchers to meet and discuss on the progresses, challenges and prospects in regional climate modeling. Presentations and posters related to topics such as advances in ocean/atmospheric/hydrology/earth system modelling and benefits of downscaling, including biases and uncertainties; the human factor and impacts and applications— are invited.
